* Snow Management *
Lets us do the storm planning while you keep working
-
Pre salt for any precipitation that falls and temperatures that are close to freezing
-
Follow forecast to determine when to began plowing. Depending on the severity of the storm, salting during the event may be needed.
-
Salting at the end of an event is ALWAYS needed and sometimes more then once.
-
Plowing snow starts once 2 inches has accumulated.
-
Snow drifts from rooftops making parking lots a sheet of ice AFTER plowing services occur, resulting in an additional plowing or application of salting .
-
DPWs work at their own pace and sometimes plow entrances back in. We may have to return to clear this.
-
We plow all night without stoping. Having crews ready at different shifts to keep fatigue from setting in.
-
Machine maintenance is the biggest thing as without them we don't have much.
-
We stay on top of our lots. Liabilities are to easy when dealing with ice. Preventing the ice from forming is the best angle of approach we have.
